Seamless
Lopi Boots are presented in two versions: the simple Dorm Boots
and the slightly more refined PhD Boots (pictured).
The PhD Boots have better foot shaping, and the directions include double
soles, which can easily be worked in the Dorm Boots.

Seamless Lopi Dorm
Boots
You must know the two-circular technique for working in the
round. Remember that garter st in
the round is k 1 rnd, p 1 rnd.
These can be made with a double sole.
See the PhD Boots for directions.
The smaller size is an “average” woman’s size.
The larger size fits my baby girl’s size 12 feet.
Making them still larger shouldn’t be too much of a challenge.
Materials: Lopi,
about 3 balls (330yds total)
Two 7mm (approx. US# 10.5) circular needles
One or two smaller circular needles to use as st holders (for
double soles only)
Gauge: not critical, but I
got about 3.5 sts per inch in sto st
Using long-tail cast on, CO 35 (40) sts.
K 1 row, turn; with 2nd needle pick up and knit into the CO loops 35
(40) times. 70 (80) sts total,
evenly divided onto two needles.
Rnd 1: P
Rnd 2: K 1, M 1, k around to last
st, M 1, k 1.
Repeat these two rnds two times more.
Continue in garter st for 7 rnds.
Next rnd: k to last three sts on
first needle, k 2 tog, k 1. On next
needle, k 1, ssk, k to end.
Repeat this rnd until 40 (42) sts remain, 20 (21) on each needle.
Work 10 rnds garter st or ribbing.
BO loosely. Work in any tails.
Run your boots through the washer and dryer until they are
the size you want.

Place these sts on a spare circular needle(s) and make another sole.
Hold the two soles together and knit them together:
put RH needle thru first st on one needle, then thru first st on second
needle; k these two sts as one st. Repeat
around.
Sew the soles together down the middle using a loose back st.
